Xiaomi announces its first Gaming Laptop: MI Gaming Laptop

Xiaomi, a renowned company known for manufacturing best budget segments mobile for the masses has now entered into the field of Gaming PC manufacturing. Yesterday it shook everyone by announcing the launch of its first ever gaming laptop series with a powerful GPU and processor. And it’s available in 2 variants of the same laptop depending on the specifications of the Graphics card, Ram, and HDD.

Though the company is making revenue from their smartphones and made another leap by joining the television market recently. But now Xiaomi is creating a new sensation by making gaming laptop. If we go by the details, these will be the best budget gaming laptops by any company till now.

Now we have to see how it will add value to the company. And we can expect tough competition in the market if we look at the price and other details.

The sale will start going on from April 13 in China in two variants, priced at CNY 5999 (approximately around $ 950) and CNY 8999 (approximately around $1400).

Talking about hardware, firstly it’s coming with a much powerful graphics card from Nvidia GeForce series GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB video card along with Windows 10 pre-installed on it. GeForce GTX 1060 is one of the top lines of graphics card from Nvidia.

The laptop comes with, narrow-frame full-HD display with a 15.6-inch screen that supports 178- degree of viewing angle and has 72 percent of NTSC color gamut along with a professional RGB-backlit keyboard with five-programmable keys. The top variant has Intel Core i7 processor, coupled with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5 RAM, 16 GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM and 256 GB of NVMe PCIe SSD.

While the low end-end version is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, coupled with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti again one of hight rated graphics card from Nvidia with 4 GB GDDR5 RAM, 8 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz RAM and 128 GB SSD.

As well there are other configurations provided such as, on the connectivity front, MI notebook has four USB 3.0 ports alongside USB Type-C, Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, microphone and headphone jacks. The gaming notebook has proper heating ventilation with 46-percent of the air-inlet grill on its outer cabinet including 3+2 large-diameter heat pipes.

And talking about audio, this Xiaomi Gaming Laptop has two 3W speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio integration for a premium audio experience.

The gaming laptop from Xiaomi is not available in other regions of the world other than it’s sales in China. As we can see from configuration provided by the company in their gaming laptop, it’s going to be a fierce competition for premium gaming laptop manufacturing companies in the gaming market like Razer, HP, Asus, and Acer.
